What is it about?
We have shown the different approaches to define pressure function in hydrostatic bearings that might be useful for definition of main operate parameters of bearings such as carrying capacity, stiffness and so on.

Why is it important?
We have suggested the effective ways to define pressure distribution on bearing surface of journal bearing. This is key of importance to achieve high values of bearing radial stiffness.
Perspectives
I strongly believe that the most convenient way to increase the bearing capacity is to regulate the size of the static clearance between bearing surfaces. I hope this article might be useful for researchers of sliding bearings.
