What is it about?
The global nature of cyberspace is specific due to national legislations and their view of specificities. Some countries have adopted the recommendations of the Convention on Cybercrime of the Council of Europe and changed the national legislation, while others maintained criminal law solutions that do not keep pace with the time and range of this type of crime. On September 2015 the Croatian Government adopted the National Strategy for Cyber Security and the Action plan for the Implementation of the National Strategy for Cyber Security, the first comprehensive strategy in the Republic of Croatia in the field of cyber security. The paper will also present the role of the Police Academy in the Action plan for the Implementation of the National Strategy for Cyber Security.

Why is it important?
The development of information and communication technology (ICT), with all its positive aspects, unfortunately, has some negative as well - the abuse of the cyber world. Consequently, countries are encouraged to cooperate and exchange information on this type of crime because of the fact that the perpetrator can be anywhere, and the crime itself may be committed at a great distance from the cybercriminal.
Perspectives
Convention on Cybercrime has introduced the term ‘cybercrime’ in the daily language of the legal profession, which has taken huge steps in the co-operation of signatory states in combating cybercrime, while the National Strategy for Cyber Security and the corresponding action plan define and describe areas of information technology that need to be protected.
