Libraries play an important role in bridging the digital divide by incorporating modern technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), as well as offering both printed materials and web repositories.

Why is it important?
Libraries are essential support in the skill development process of a country and its citizens. Libraries, with their extensive collections, commitment to inclusion, and work ethic, are well positioned to play a key role in shaping an effective world as society experiences rapidly changing future challenges, emerging as beacons of knowledge.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to rare disease groups contacting me and ultimately to a greater involvement in rare disease research.
