What is it about?

I have analysed the historical example of Q. Aelius Tubero, narrated by Cicero, Valerius Maximus and Seneca. The first two authors blame Tubero for his exhibition of excessive sobriety in a public context, for which he lost the political elections; on the contrary Seneca praises him for his coherence with Stoic orthodoxy.
