What is it about?

At the start of Henry V, the chorus speaks of a "crooked figure" or zero that can be powerful if placed next to a one; this essay uses conceptual blending theory to show how Shakespeare takes that idea of the relative placement of numbers to signify value to challenge the war-like King and his defeat of France. The essay brings in research on math from Rafael Nunez and George Lakoff and displays the mathematical scaffolding under this play.
