What is it about?
The archaeological evidence of the construction phases datable to the Kassite period are presented. Furthermore, ongoing studies on objects related to the temple are presented as an appendix.

Why is it important?
It emphasizes that there is no evidence concerning a construction phase datable to Kadashman-Turgu as stated earlier. The only inscribed evidence from the Ekur (Temple of Enlil) proper is a lapis bead found in a Post-Kassite layer.
Perspectives
This article partly supersedes an earlier publication of mine concerning the Kassite Ekur. It was also a great opportunity to share some insights from my object studies of the early excavations at Nippur.
