What is it about?
Early traumatized people often suffer from profound developmental disorders and personality-changing post-traumatic mental stress. Religion and spirituality can prove to be inner healing resources. Based on philosophical positions the article shows the importance of including the religious and spiritual dimension in psychotherapy. A case vignette illustrates how a spontaneously occurring existential-religious experience can be included effectively in Psychotherapy.

Psychotherapy including imaginations allows the experience of healing original states of believe and shows the necessity for reopening psychological science to her philosophical an theological background. Impulses for spiritual care in psychotherapy are summarized.
Perspectives
This article is the final result and explanation of the surprising and deeply moving experience of therapeutical borderline situations which I have described in "Wenn der Lebensfaden brennt ... " (Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht 2019). For reconciliation and inner healing from the depths I coined the term "existential recuperation". I hope and wish my professional collegues to pay more attention to this fact.
