An analogical approach to logic through the game of football.

What is it about?

How to account for the game of logic through the game of football? An analogy is made between these two games from a semantic perspective of truth-preservation.

Why is it important?

Games being presented in the present paper as a sequence of moves endowed with a specific goal, football depicts a number of moves clearly analogous to those of logic. A structural analogy is made clearer between them, accordingly.

Fabien Schang

Visiting Professor and postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Goiás (Brazil), my research program is entitled "Pluralist Pluralism" and deals with the different ways in which pluralism may make sense into the area of logic. This resorts to the method of formal philosophy, applying logical tools to philosophical problems.
