What is it about?
The paper introduces a proto Q-transform which converts a gray-scale image into a quantum observable, and vice versa. It is then demonstrated that the process which affects non-isolated quantum systems reduces noise that may be present in an image.

Why is it important?
This sheds light on the problem of manipulating information in quantum environments.
Perspectives
The Q-transform, roughly outlined in this work, is made rigorous in subsequent articles. It gives a new perspective at the nature of quantum dynamics.
