Attitudes towards Modern Standard Arabic in Arab Egypt.

What is it about?

The article basically looks at how university students perceive the Modern Standard Arabic variety vis-a-vis the other variety that is used in their daily activities. It is a fact that the diglossic situation in Arab countries has some undesirable aspects in student's academic pursuit and this article examined some of those aspects.

Why is it important?

The article may help language planners in the formulation of policies that affect learners in general.
