What is it about?

The effect nano- and micron- filler grain sizes in the polymer electrolytes were studied. Bonding formation among host polymer and other additives have been studied using FTIR. Particle sizes were calculated through Debye-Scherrer equation. This work considers the effect of instrument broadening to further improve the accuracy of particle broadening for particle size calculation. Amorphousity level are computed from DSC thermograms.

Why is it important?

A detailed particle size analysis is performed based on XRD patterns by using Debye-Scherrer equation. The broadening effect caused by instrument is taken into consideration for a more accurate calculation of particle size. The percentage of crystallinity based on the melting enthalphy change value are also analysed based on the DSC thermograms.


This work covers a detail study on effect of filler grain size towards PMMA based composite polymer electrolytes. The analysis work begins from pure host polymer, follow by solid stage polymer electrolytes, then gel polymer electrolytes and finally composite polymer electrolytes.
