My paper tries to explain how an indepth reading of Kant's Categories can better explain the reductional process of Marion's phenomenology of givenness. It mainly shows how in the case of an overwhelming phenomenon the subject can reduce itself to an active passivity

Why is it important?
My paper is important as it shows the compatibility of phenomenological investigation with transcendental philosophy and most importantly it tries to provide an account of a hermeneutically active subject in Marion's phenomenology. This is of great importance given that Marion's Subject is a highly discussed topic in the research
