What is it about?
This contribution explores motivational factors from the perspective of students in order to design an effective approach to teaching. Its purpose is twofold. First, it pinpoints findings from a student needs analysis regarding their learning in relation to today’s teaching reality. Second, the findings serve as the basis for proposing a corresponding set of tools to implement an effective approach to teaching.

Why is it important?
In the 21st cetury, many schools still dwell on traditional, frontal teaching. Modern methods need to be implemented. The publication shows the student perspective about their expectations and needs for school education and offers a set of adequate methods for educational practice.
Perspectives
Writing this article was easy as both the student need analysis and the methods described come from my own teaching practice. I talk to the students in my lessons and I use all the methods which students highly appreciate.
