Evaluation of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol equations by cross-platform assessment of accuracy-based EQA data against SI-traceable reference value

What is it about?

Three equations (Friedewald, Martin/Hopkins, and Sampson) for the calculation of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDLC) were evaluated against SI-traceable reference values. The results support the application of the Martin/Hopkins equation for LDLC, especially in samples from higher-risk patients.
