The Team, the Team, the Team: What Critical Care Research Can Learn from Football Teams

What is it about?

The study of athletic teams and football teams specifically is extensive. Although in healthcare we believe teams save lives, the data is surprisingly weak. In this manuscript, I explore what critical care research on the study of teams could learn from football teams as a way to improve how teams work together. Understanding what we can learn from football teams could help outline a path for clinicians and researchers about how to improve the science of teams for the well-being of patients, families and ICU clinicians.
