Why is it important?
Buying an apartment for an Indian is perhaps the biggest investment in one's life time. The study highlights which all factors to probe before the purchase decision so that post purchase satisfaction prevails.
Perspectives
This is perhaps the first systematic study of criteria of purchase of residential apartment in India. It is found that the characteristics of the building have no significant effect on buyer's residential satisfaction. Factors like escalation in prices; clogged kitchen outlet; dimensions of built up area; readiness of sample flat; quality of after sales service; safety and security features and the environment friendly initiatives taken produce significant effects on satisfaction.
