What is it about?

In this cover paper for CMAJ (Canada's oldest medical journal), my co-author and I consider iCBT (Internet-delivered CBT) for various mental disorders. We review the literature, with a focus on depression, anxiety and medical illness. We also look at some popular websites and apps, providing descriptions and ties to the literature.

Why is it important?

There is more and more interest in iCBT as a possible way of offering patients a lower-cost form of an effective psychotherapy. Here we consider the larger literature in a clear and understandable way. Our principle finding: therapist-guided iCBT is far superior to non-therapist-guided.
