What is it about?
This review explains why human pregnancy is unique amongst the some 4,300 mammal species and why it has several consequences explaining the specificities of human sexuality/reproduction. For example why humans have intercourse all the year long (and not oestrus like the majority of mammals). Why it is better for women to wait at least 6 months of regular sexual intercourse (contraception without) barrier methods) before deciding to make a conception (to allow immunological tolerance towards paternal tissues and avoid complications such as the very harmful preeclampsia)
