What is it about?

Amenorrheic women (median age 28) with central (hypogonadotropic, secondary) hypogonadism had higher cholesterol and triglyceride levels compaired to healthy women of similar age. Treatment with estradiol 2 mg and dydrogesterone 10 mg leaded to significant decrease of cholesterol and triglyceride levels

Why is it important?

Central hypogonadism in young women is usually considered as reproductive disorder. However, we found metabolic consequences of hypoestrogenemia, and showed it's regress on hormonal treatment
