What is it about?

Hypogonadotropic amenorrhea (HA) is a relatively rare disorder that can impact general health. In young women with HA we found elevated levels of total cholesterol and triglycireds correlated positively with estrogen and angrogen concentrations. Therapy with oral estradiol 2 mg + dydrogesterone 10 mg in sequenced manner decreased significantly lipid levels.

Why is it important?

Hypogonadotorpic amenorrhea is associated not only with absence of menstrual cycle but also with metabolic disorders. However, treatment with sex steroids is often delayed. We have to understand better the importance of this disease and effects of the estrogen-gestagen therapy.
