This study analyzes the language and communication via Japanese mobile phone e-mail. The components of e-mail, genres, social differences shown in this communication are shown (over 40000 texts with 1000000 characters) 本研究は、ケータイメールについての包括的研究で（40000以上のメールに1000000以上の文字）、メールの構成要素、話題、社会的差異の反映等が議論されている。

Why is it important?
To understand and discuss computer-mediated-communication, (CMC) the mobile phone e-mail with pictographs and emoticons was significant step to form current style of CMC, and holistic analysis with the big data whose size has not been collected and analyzed in other research studies is important to see the history and revolution of CMC in this era. コンピュータ媒介のコミュニケーション（CMC）を理解し議論する際、ケータイメールは現在のCMCに至る大きな変革期であり、他の研究で見られない大規模データを用いての包括的研究は、CMCの歴史や発展を考えるのに、一時点の集大成的な記録として重要なものであると考えられる。
Perspectives
This study will be a reference to research more advanced styles of CMC, as a data, by qualitative and quantitative analysis. 本研究はより発達していくCMC及びその研究において、一つのデータ集、質的量的研究の実践として有用なものであると考えます。
