What is it about?
The article discusses how three comics series talk about Ground Zero in New York in fictionalized ways to present a social critique but also to repeat conservative political messages in the "War on Terror" era, rooted specifically in the close association of the comics with the area of downtown Manhattan they all use as the center of their storytelling.

Why is it important?
It offers a new way of understanding how comics can send contradictory messages and how they can engage in political discussions in ways that both critique and support structures of power.
Perspectives
I learned a lot from working on this piece, and the project it was part of was fun to do because of my fantastic co-editor, the great contributors, and the people at the journal where it was published.
