What is it about?

An interview with the creator and writers of the children's TV series ROYALS NEXT DOOR, and an insight into the creation of a series for different territories, written by writers of different countries.

Why is it important?

The conversation between writers and the creator explores key elements of creating a children's TV series for different countries and the common themes to hold it all together, whilst also taking in humour across borders, humane working practices and writing during a pandemic.

Perspectives

Getting the opportunity to bring the 'room' of writers together and reflect on the process of writing Royals Next Door was a pleasure I hope will extend to the readers too - thinking about cynicism in writing and kinder ways of working; something I would hope can be adopted by many more productions - and that creations don't have to be made under duress.
