What is it about?

The study deals with the learning process of a classically trained musician in dealing with an EDM-oriented groovebox: The initial interpretation of the instrument metaphor and the accompanying handling of the device meets with resistance. The musician realises that his existing conceptual models are inappropriate for interacting with the device. So he leaves his comfort zone and confronts himself with a preset session, thus leaving the device in control. In this way, his conceptual models are renewed and expanded. A reciprocal relationship between musician and music technology emerges.
