What is it about?
Tourism has been always a human activity that brings people together, that unites population across lands and nations. Contemporary tourism in Spain is highly influenced by medieval mentalities and events, as for example the peregrination to Santiago de Compostela and the re-enactments of medieval spectacles that are today constantly more popular.

Why is it important?
This articles sheds light into the importance and presence of our medieval world into today's society. History is never detached from our society, as neither is the Middle Ages. In fact, recreating medieval life is profitable and enriches our cultural views and our economic systems.
Perspectives
I hope this articles makes readers think and consider why and how it matters to revive medieval culture and literature. Normally seen as old-fashioned and non-interesting topics for a general audience, I hope to bring forward a conversation that is meaningful and provoking about the relation between past and present to build a more complete future world, one that is inclusive and diverse, one that seeks understanding and human solidarity.
