What is it about?

An exploration, through drawing, of the unfinished manuscripts of the French Philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty. The artist spent time in the Bibliothèque national de France (BnF) in Paris with the philosophers handwritten manuscripts to see if they could reveal more about his philosophical ideas and the nature of his thought processes.

Merleau-Ponty’s writing and insight into art and art practice can be appreciated in greater depth by looking at his late writing on drawing. This article takes his concepts a step further by considering his handwritten documents as drawings in themselves.
