What is it about?
South Korean filmmaker Hong Sang-soo is occasionally critiqued for making films that blend together in retrospect. Two of Hong’s latest films, The Woman Who Ran (2020) and In Front of Your Face (2021), are certainly aware of this unfair criticism. Through the way these films portray conversations between female characters, Hong lets the audience know he's heard this tired complaint... and is more than capable of subverting it.

Why is it important?
