What is it about?
This research examines the ways contemporary pin up girls, the 'neo-pin ups' use and transform mid-twentieth century pin up style to create their own version.

Why is it important?
These findings show that neo-pin ups are appropriating a style in order to express their identity, yet the meanings embedded within this practice are uniquely contemporary.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a pleasure as I had the privilege of meeting several interesting women, both those interviewed and others during the research. It also incorporates autoethnographic research where I participated in the pin up cultures and even entered competitions.
