What is it about?

Shakespeare famously wrote "love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind." Is this statement correct even when it comes to judging a romantic partner’s physical appearance? When madly and deeply in love do we really “see” our beloved with our mind’s eye and idealize how they look? The results of present research provided support for this idea. Our findings revealed that women who are passionately in love tend to idealize their partner’s facial appearance—representing him as more attractive and trustworthy—than women who are less passionately in love.
