What is it about?

Climate change will affect food production globally. Our study is to find which regional agricultural sectors are most susceptible to climate change impacts. We found a strong relationship between the quantity of food production and the connectivity level of a region to extreme climate susceptibility.

Why is it important?

This work helps to adopt agricultural practices to increase production such as smart farming, increased investment in plantation agriculture, and diversification of trading partners to help mitigate future food security risks in agricultural import-dependent regions.

Perspectives

This work is particularly important and applicable to sectors/organizations where answers are needed to tackle the impact of climate change in agriculture.
