What is it about?
Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the world’s leading causes of infectious disease death. Our research estimated the costs and economic benefits of new TB vaccine introduction to prevent TB cases and deaths. We created a mathematical model of TB epidemiology and health services to estimate how TB health outcomes—as well as the costs faced by governments and patients—might change in a future with and without new TB vaccines. We found that new TB vaccines could offer large potential health and economic benefits in many countries.
