What is it about?
This publication provides an overview of plastic pollution, the contamination it creates and potential solutions with a focus on plastic degradation by biological means. Of particular interest is the capacity of some insect larvae to degrade polyethylene and polystyrene, among the sturdiest and most produced plastic materials.

The awareness about the issues that plastic pollution carries is never too much. We believe that the exhaustive review of such issues is crucial to develop and spread such awareness.
