What is it about?

The spectral design and manufacture of precision mid-infrared bandpass filters for the JPL Diviner experiment focal plane array is described.

Why is it important?

The LRO mission is to investigate the thermal radiation, mineralogical composition and structure of the lunar environment with a view to enabling future human exploration.
