Simulation of the changes in the direction of view and the postoperative spherical equivalent refraction as a function of IOL-decentration and IOL-tilt in normal eyes calculated from personalized ray-tracing models.

Why is it important?
We suggest a new strategy for placing the IOL for custom ray-tracing simulations. The fixation axis changes when the IOL is misplaced. Although this is in most cases not clinically relevant, simulation studies of the effect of IOL-misalignment on the image quality should take this into consideration to draw better conclusions.
