What is it about?

Since 1998 Indonesia has been not only the world's largest Muslim-majority country, but its third-largest democracy. It's economy has grown rapidly since the 1990s. It has long played a low-key role in the world, incommensurate with its size. The volume presents a many-sided view on the obstacles to Indonesia's greater influence, and the likelihood of its assuming greater leadership in the world.
