What is it about?

Since Valenzuela deliberately decided to depict such a menacing character as a hermaphrodite, the focus of this study will be placed on how this choice opens the text to a dialectical post-modern inquiry of the relationships between sex, gender, sexuality, nation-building, authorship, authority, and language.
