What is it about?

The novel Ramata by Abasse Ndione, and its film adaptation by Léandre-Alain Baker in 2009, and the novel Sarraounia: Le drame de la reine magicienne by bdoulaye Mamani, and its film adaptation Sarraounia, by Med Hondo in1986 both have female main characters who defy the norms and take on the margins of society to portray their counter power and assert their place in their perspective society.
