What is it about?

The purpose for this project was to determine if people new to the United States were more likely to break liquor laws during the Prohibition era than those who lived in the country much longer.

Why is it important?

Some believe that newcomers to this country are more likely to commit criminal acts than those who have lived here for generations. In this single case study concerning illegal alcohol use, sale and production in the early part of the 20th century, that belief was not supported.
