What is it about?

This concluding chapter of my book 'Social Work: the rise and fall of a profession?' ends optimistically. Focussing on the UK, it argues that despite the challenges arising from the current globalised neo-liberal consensus, possibilities still exist for practitioners to challenge the status quo both in their direct work with service users and collectively with such as trade unions, the Social Work Action Network, professional organisations and political paries.
