What is it about?
This is a descriptive and qualitative research, based on data from Rachel Maia’s book: Meu Caminho até a Cadeira Número 1, and the content analysis technique was adopted. The results show that the barriers are related to sexism, racism, and social class, and the challenges were double shifts, education/social mobility, identity, and stereotypes.

Why is it important?
Breaking the intersectional glass ceiling is a complex process because of the various violence and obstacles in the organizational field. Furthermore, having qualifications is another difficulty because most black women are marginalized, therefore, affirmative policies are fundamental for intergenerational mobility. It is hoped that this study can encourage new studies and debates in academia and organizations.
Perspectives
DEI is expected to be strengthened with a view to economic development and the inclusion of black women in senior positions.
