The evolution of fracture clinic design

What is it about?

A Fracture Clinic can be an unpleasant and chaotic environment, with large numbers of patients, long waits but often with very little benefit in terms of investigation and treatment. A Trauma Triage Clinic can allow experienced surgeons to select whether patents actually need to travel back to the hospital for a clinic appointment, and ensure that if they do it is at the right time and to see the right person. We report our experience over the first year after adopting such a system in Edinburgh.
