What is it about?

In this retrospective study we looked at risk factors for postoperative periprosthetic fracture that surgeons can identify pre- and intraoperatively. Poor bone quality, classified as Dorr type C, was an independent risk factor with a x 5,2 risk for post operative fracture. Surgeons should take bone morphology into consideration when planning for primary THA and consider using cemented femoral components in female patients with poor bone quality.
