What is it about?

Prosthetic Joint Infection is currently a major problem. Diagnosis is not always easy and studying synovial fluid of the affected joint is still the best way to get accurate information. Although several sophisticated biomarkers are under research we have shown that studying simple, inexpensive and already widely available parameters such as leukocyte count, C-reactive protein and Adenosine deaminase can help reduce the number of doubtful cases.
