What is it about?

Fractures of the femur following total hip arthroplasty are rare, but potentially devastating complications that often require subsequent surgery. This paper summarizes the current evidence of how femoral implant design affects the risk of femur fractures. We found that specific femoral stem geometries are associated with a higher risk of postoperative fractures in the literature.
