Why is it important?
Infected nonunions are difficult to treat, and are a widespread problem resulting from traumatic injuries. Untreated or poorly treated infected nonunions can result in loss of limb. Most patients are also young and within their most economically productive years, and this condition results in loss of income. We demonstrate how the condition can be effectively treated using a multidisciplinary team.
