What is it about?
While anti-osteoporosis medication significantly reduces the risk of fracture, for every 137 hip fractures prevented, one atypical fracture maybe caused. Management of these atypical fractures requires a different approach from the trauma team, rehabilitation team and metabolic bone / fracture liaison services. We here describe our regional guidelines for the management of atypical femoral fractures.
