Why is it important?

Improving survival to hospital and hospital survival to discharge is the ultimate goal of any out of hospital resuscitation attempt. The factors surrounding pre hospital defibrillation could be managed differently and improvements made to increase survival outcomes.

Perspectives

There has been much discussion in recent years surrounding the use of automated external defibrillators in Paramedic led cardiac arrests. As a Paramedic I feel any changes to our management systems that Improve outcomes should be explored.
