What is it about?

In 2015 the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition reviewed the evidence around fibre, recommending a new definition and new dietary guidelines. For those advising on infant and child nutrition a dichotomy may be felt between the need to include fibre in the diet and the traditional caution on promoting fibre in children diets due to concern over reduce energy and nutrient content. This article attempts to review the guidelines and offer guidance on how to advise parents on including fibre in their child's diet.
