What is it about?

Participating in a Popping For Parkinson’s® dance class boosts mood of participants with PD, regardless of sex, age, previous dance experience, the location of the dance class, stage of Parkinson’s disease, presence of tremor and deep brain stimulation treatment.

Why is it important?

This is the first study on Popping dance and its effects on people with Parkinson's disease. The findings allow a deeper understanding of the power of dance on participants with PD, especially in regards to mood. The study suggests to administer a "dance pill" to Parkinson's patients in conjunction with pharmacological treatments.
