What is it about?
This article identified factors that influence utilisation of skill birth attendants by women in the communities. Such factors could be used by nurses to improve utilisation of skilled birth attendants in the communities.

Why is it important?
The result of the study shows that women’s perception of hospital-based maternity care services does not necessary influence their utilization of these services. Stakeholders should promote hospital-based maternity care services by making them more user-friendly, Intention to use hospital-based maternity care services could be accomplished by promoting partners’ involvement and reducing barriers associated with the use of these services as identified in the study.
Perspectives
Sharing my findings with my students has yielded a great result during their last community health posting. Findings were used in community mobilization for utilization of Skill birth attendants. I am sure that the reader will find the result useful in their practice.
